Many Websites Under 1 Roof
Hanson engaged Disruptiv to build a series of new websites for all brands under the Heidelberg group. The problem was that the group had many websites in many different solutions, domains were in different locations and there were many different service providers managing the websites for each of their brands. Hanson was seeking a solution, which enabled their marketing teams to work autonomously, with some protocols in place to implement content governance rules. Disruptiv met the requirements with a solution called multi-tenant CMS and built the solution in Umbraco.
Now Hanson can login to one single Content Management System (CMS) and access all of their groups websites and many of the products are common across their group websites, the shared catalogue featured pulls their products from their core system SAP to ensure that their products are kept up to date and in synergy across all group websites.

The number of incoming leads from the old website was too low, multiple websites in different systems made it impossible to track content quality control, navigation was not structured well and did not provide enough detail about specific products, many of the competitors have started to shift to eCommerce. The brand storytelling experience was quite clinical and corporate, we needed to find new and exciting ways to gamify the user experience and ensure the flow of the experience resulted in a sales opportunity.
USER INTERFACE DESIGN
Given that the website is highly functional, packed with features we decided that a minimal approach, fused with an industrial look and feel made the most sense. This approach led to a brand refresh, which unearthed the need to conduct a brand refresh, which really took the brand storytelling experience to a whole new level. The Client was looking to lean into an eCommerce experience, without actually selling products online (for the initial phase) so we invented the concept of a quote cart. The quote cart enabled users to browse the website and add build a bill of materials and submit it digitally to their CRM so that their order processing team can provide a formal quotation.
TECHNICAL APPROACH
Using a middleware we integrated the website with the group companies SAP system. Plant location and products were integrated seamlessly to ensure product managers could maintain products without having to log into the website CMS. The application was designed to determine your browsers location and only show products applicable to your browsing location, which is essentially for any business selling products with raw materials because the make up of the product is different dependent upon the quarry it was mined from. The application was integrated with Marketo, an effective solution to handle sophisticated lead allocation rules to ensure the right leads are passed to the correct business units.
