Couture Kingdom engaged Disruptiv to build a new website in Shopify. Couture Kingdom exclusively sell Disney, Pixar & Star Wars jewellery so it was important to highlight these iconic brand, whilst crafting a compelling brand story for their brand, Couture Kingdom.

UX RESEARCH
Problems identified: The average order value was too low, which meant it was important for us to improve the AOV to deliver an effective return (Disney themed keywords are super expensive!). Also, we identified that new shoppers were not connecting with themes of the products on an emotional level. We needed to encourage visitors to visit more pages to get explore further into the website to boost engagement. Many were bouncing after the first visit.
USER INTERFACE DESIGN
We explored 3 design routes: nostalgic, luxe and minimal. We discovered that the minimal approach was the best way to fuse the client’s brand with the Disney, Pixar and Star Wars theme without overwhelming the screen. We introduced a custom up-sell/cross-sell feature in the cart drawer which was powered by some predictive AI to drive customers to add more than 1 product in the cart. Choice of metal types was represented on the product grid.
TECHNICAL APPROACH
Shopify was the chosen solution as it was the best fit for the requirements. The theme was completely custom, we customised some apps to extend the functionality in order to achieve the functional requirements. Core functionality included a custom app for the up-sell feature in the cart drawer, advanced predictive search, freight integration, wholesale portal, social media integration and eBay integration.
THE RESULTS
Consistently maintained an AOV increase of 30%, doubled Google traffic, improved conversion by 20-30% dependent on seasonality. In addition to results, customers personally reached out to our client and congratulated them on the new website and new email template design. The Client established new and engaging relationships with Disney brand managers and as a result gained more momentum in PR when releasing new product lines.
